Independence, Trademark & Content Notice
NABHDesk IS AN INDEPENDENT PRODUCT. IT IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH, ENDORSED BY, APPROVED BY, CERTIFIED BY, OR CONNECTED IN ANY WAY TO THE NATIONAL ACCREDITATION BOARD FOR HOSPITALS & HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS (NABH) OR THE QUALITY COUNCIL OF INDIA (QCI).
"NABH" and "Quality Council of India" are marks of their respective owners. We use the term only to describe, factually, which accreditation programme our software helps hospitals prepare for.
Using NABHDesk gives you no advantage in an assessment, no standing with NABH, and no shortcut of any kind.
This Notice is published by Caresoft Systems Private Limited and forms part of the Terms of Use. It prevails over any marketing material, proposal or verbal statement on any question of our relationship with NABH, or of what our content is.

1. What NABHDesk is
NABHDesk is a quality management and compliance workflow platform. It helps a hospital organise the work that accreditation requires — document control, committees, quality indicators, incidents and root cause analysis, audits, training records, equipment maintenance, patient feedback and grievances — and track its own readiness against a structured element library.
It is a project management and record-keeping tool applied to a quality programme. It is not the accreditation, not part of the accreditation process, and not connected to the body that grants it.
2. Our relationship with NABH
| Are you… | |
|---|---|
| Affiliated with NABH or QCI? | No |
| Endorsed, approved or recommended by them? | No |
| An empanelled or authorised vendor? | No |
| Licensed by them in any way? | No |
| Party to any agreement with them? | No |
| Able to influence an assessment outcome? | No |
| Able to speak to NABH on your behalf? | No |
| Employing NABH assessors? | Not in any capacity connected to their assessment work |
Why we state this so plainly. A hospital investing in accreditation is spending significant money and management attention. It is entitled to know exactly who it is buying from, and that nobody in this transaction has a line into the accrediting body. Anyone in this market who implies otherwise is misleading you.
3. What we never do
| We do not | |
|---|---|
| Use the NABH logo, emblem, seal or any visual element of its identity | Never |
| Suggest NABH endorses, approves or has reviewed our software | Never |
| Describe ourselves as NABH-approved, NABH-certified, NABH-empanelled or NABH-authorised | Never |
| Claim our content is the official standard, or that it has been checked by NABH | Never |
| Reproduce the published text of the standards (§6) | Never |
| Promise, imply or hint at a particular assessment outcome | Never |
| Offer to influence, expedite or intervene in an assessment | Never |
| Present a readiness score as an assessment result or a prediction of one | Never |
If you ever see NABHDesk marketing, a reseller, or a consultant presenting the product in any of these ways, it is unauthorised and we want to know. Write to legal@caresoft.co.in. We enforce this against our own channel, not merely on paper.
4. No guarantee of accreditation
NO SOFTWARE CAN GET A HOSPITAL ACCREDITED, AND WE DO NOT CLAIM TO.
Accreditation is granted by NABH on the basis of an on-site assessment of what your hospital actually does — how care is delivered, how staff behave, what an assessor observes on the ward. A tidy set of records is necessary and nowhere near sufficient.
- We do not warrant that using NABHDesk will result in accreditation, a particular score, a shorter timeline, or fewer non-conformities.
- A hospital can have every document in order in NABHDesk and still fail, because the assessment looks at practice, not paperwork.
- The most common reason hospitals fail is a gap between what the policy says and what staff actually do. Software cannot close that gap — only management and training can.
- Timelines, costs and outcomes depend on your starting point, your leadership, your staffing and your clinical practice.
- Any figures in our material about readiness improvement or time saved are illustrative, not commitments.
5. We are not assessors
- Caresoft does not perform assessments, pre-assessments, gap audits or mock assessments as a NABH-recognised activity.
- Nothing NABHDesk produces is an assessment finding. A gap shown in the software is our software's view against our element library — not NABH's view.
- An assessor may reach different conclusions from ours on the same evidence, and theirs is the one that counts.
- We do not provide accreditation consultancy as part of the software licence. Where consultancy is offered separately, it is Caresoft's own advice and carries no NABH standing.
- The assessment-day pack the software produces is our own preparation aid, not an approved submission format.
6. Copyright in the standards
The published NABH standards are a copyright work. We do not reproduce them, and NABHDesk does not contain the published text.
- The text of the standards, the objective elements as published, the interpretations and the guidance in the official publication belong to their rights holder.
- NABHDesk does not paste, embed, quote at length, or make available the published wording of any element.
- What NABHDesk contains is our own plain-language requirement wording, written by us to describe what an element asks for (§7).
- We run an automated word-for-word comparison against the published text after any content load, and rewrite anything that has drifted onto the published wording. Short elements are the ones that drift, and that check is re-run after every edit.
- You may not use NABHDesk to reproduce or redistribute the published standards, and you may not paste published text into the platform.
Do not paste text from the published standards into any free-text field in NABHDesk. Doing so puts copyright material into your tenant and into our systems, and neither of us wants that. Describe the requirement in your own words, or reference the element code.
7. Our wording is ours
Every requirement description, how-to note and evidence hint in NABHDesk was written by us. It is our interpretation of what an element asks for, expressed in plain language for a hospital quality team.
- Our wording is our own intellectual property, licensed to you for use within the platform (§16).
- It is an interpretation, not a translation, and not a substitute for reading the standard itself.
- Where our wording and the published standard differ in emphasis or scope, the published standard governs.
- We may revise our wording as our understanding improves or as feedback identifies problems.
8. Codes, tiers and structure
Element codes (such as AAC.1a), the chapter and standard structure, the tier of each element, and whether documentation is required are facts about the programme. We record them accurately and use them directly, so that what you see in the software matches what an assessor refers to.
Recording a code accurately is not reproducing a copyright work, and using the correct structure is the only way the software is useful to you.
9. Accuracy of our content
[SECTION TO BE UPDATED AS VERIFICATION COMPLETES — CURRENT STATUS MUST BE STATED HONESTLY HERE AT ALL TIMES]
Our element library is built on the structure of the current edition, with our own requirement wording for every element. That wording has been drafted by us and is subject to ongoing review against the published edition by a qualified reviewer.
State here, and keep current: which chapters have completed human verification against the published edition, which have not, and the date of the last review.
Where our wording for an element has not yet completed verification, the platform indicates it, and you should not treat a score against that element as reliable.
A hospital that believes it is compliant because our software said so, when our wording did not fully capture what the element requires, is in a worse position than one with no software at all — because it stopped looking.
- We correct errors promptly on identification and notify clients where a correction changes a score.
- Tell us when you find one. A quality team with the book in hand will spot things we missed, and that feedback improves the library for every hospital
- We do not warrant that our wording captures every requirement of any element, or that our how-to notes suit your hospital's context.
10. The verification you must do
Someone at your hospital, with the published standards in hand, must check our wording against the actual elements before you rely on a readiness figure.
- Confirm each requirement description says what the element genuinely asks.
- Confirm the how-to notes match how your hospital actually operates, and adjust your own evidence accordingly.
- Identify where local regulation is stricter than the accreditation standard (§14) — the stricter requirement governs.
- Do this before your first scored assessment, not after.
This is not us disclaiming responsibility for content we wrote. It is the same discipline any quality team applies to any external template: read it against the source before you build a programme on it. A hospital that skips this step and is surprised on assessment day was going to be surprised anyway.
11. Editions and revisions
- Standards are revised. NABH may issue new editions, amendments, clarifications and circulars at any time, without notice to us.
- The edition our library reflects is stated in the platform and in our documentation.
- We update the library on a reasonable-efforts basis after a change is published. There will be a period during which our content lags the published position.
- You are responsible for knowing which edition applies to your assessment and for following NABH's own communications. Do not rely on our software to tell you a standard has changed.
- Circulars, clarifications and FAQs issued by NABH are not incorporated into our library unless we say so.
12. Buy the book
Your hospital should hold its own copy of the current published standards, obtained from NABH.
NABHDesk is designed to be used alongside it, not instead of it. Any quality team preparing for accreditation without the actual standards to hand is working from a summary of a summary — and no software should encourage that.
Where our platform, our wording, our scoring or our advice differs from the published standard, the published standard governs, without exception.
13. What a readiness score means
A readiness percentage in NABHDesk is a self-assessment against our library. It is not an accreditation score, not a prediction, and not evidence of anything to anyone outside your hospital.
- It reflects what your own team recorded — their judgement, their evidence, their honesty about gaps.
- A team scoring generously produces a high figure and a false sense of readiness. The software cannot detect optimism, and optimistic self-scoring is the normal failure mode of every quality system ever built.
- Scope matters: a readiness figure calculated against the wrong programme or bed category is meaningless.
- The figure does not account for what an assessor will observe on the ward, ask a nurse, or find in a store room.
- Never present a NABHDesk readiness figure to a board, an investor, an insurer or a customer as evidence of accreditation status. It is an internal working measure.
14. Local regulation may be stricter
Accreditation standards sit alongside law, not above it. Your obligations under the Clinical Establishments Act rules in your State, biomedical waste rules, fire safety and building regulations, PCPNDT, POCSO, drug licensing, radiation safety, labour law and any other applicable regulation apply regardless of what an accreditation element says.
Where local regulation is stricter than the accreditation standard, the regulation governs. NABHDesk tracks the accreditation programme; it does not track your State's rules, and satisfying an element does not mean you have satisfied a statute.
15. Other marks
Names, logos and marks of other organisations — accreditation bodies, hospital information systems, equipment manufacturers, cloud providers — belong to their owners and are used for identification and interoperability only. Their appearance implies no partnership, sponsorship, endorsement or certification.
16. Our own marks
"NABHDesk" and "Caresoft" and the associated logos are marks of Caresoft Systems Private Limited. The software, our requirement wording, how-to notes, evidence hints, checklist libraries, templates and documentation are our intellectual property.
- Our content is licensed to you for use within the platform, for your own hospital, during your subscription.
- You may not extract, redistribute, publish or resell our wording, checklists or templates, or use them to build a competing product or a consultancy offering outside your own organisation.
- You may state accurately that you use NABHDesk. You may not use our marks in your own product or service names.
17. Partners and consultants
Where we appoint resellers, or where accreditation consultants use NABHDesk with their clients, they are contractually bound by this Notice.
- A partner must not present NABHDesk as NABH-approved, imply any relationship with NABH, or promise an accreditation outcome.
- A consultant's own experience or standing is theirs. It does not extend to our software and must not be presented as though it did.
- Where a consultant holds a role with NABH, that role is entirely separate from their use of our software, and using our software must not be presented as connected to it.
- Consultants using NABHDesk across multiple hospitals require a separate arrangement — each hospital's data is a separate entity's confidential information (Terms §4).
18. If you are a rights holder
