The hospital committees NABH expects you to run - and the minutes that prove it

A committee without minutes does not exist as far as an assessor is concerned.

Quality, infection control, safety, pharmacotherapeutics, medical records, transfusion, ethics, grievance, disaster and code blue - the list is long and the meetings are easy to skip in a busy quarter.

What an assessor looks for

Constitution order, defined frequency, attendance, agenda, minutes, and most importantly the action points from the last meeting being closed in this one. An unbroken chain matters more than an elegant document.

Make the calendar do the work

Schedule the whole year in advance, assign the minute-taker, and let reminders chase people. Retrospective minute-writing before an assessment is visible and it costs you credibility.
